UPCOMING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
August 18th, 2013
Come with Ken Moore and Nadia Hamey to help liberate our biologically rich coastal prairie habitat from a damaging invader -- Purple Star Thistle.
You will learn about the ecology of an important habitat while helping to protect this spectacular coastal property which is closed to the public.
This will be our last chance to prevent its seed from spreading this year! It's easy work. The plants are small, and thorns are only found on the seed heads. We just chop them off at the base and bag them.
We will meet Sunday August 18 at 9:00 in the parking lot across from Whale City bakery in Davenport. Bring a day pack with a pair of gardening gloves, some water and a lunch. Dressing in layered clothing is recommended.
If you have questions or need more information, contact Ken at ken(at)wildwork(dot)org
or Nadia, email@example.com
